Terms of use
These terms govern your use of this website. They concern the website itself; the rules of the Hallmark scheme are set out separately in the Hallmark Regulations.
This website is published by The Assay Foundation Limited as the public reference for The Assay Foundation and its regime. You may read, link to, and quote from it for lawful purposes, including procurement and audit, with attribution. You may not use it in any way that is unlawful, that interferes with its operation, or that misrepresents the Foundation, the Hallmark, or the status of any Engagement on the Register.
The Register records the status of each Engagement, and that status is the authoritative record. A Hallmark, badge, or identifier reproduced elsewhere is only as good as its match to the Register; the canonical record on this site governs.
The Foundation aims to keep this site available and its content accurate, but it is provided as it is, without any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at any particular time. The Foundation may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of the site without notice. To the extent permitted by law, the Foundation does not accept liability for any loss arising from reliance on the site, save that nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
The name The Assay Foundation, the Touchstone mark, the Hallmark and its component cartouches, and the other marks, names, and devices of the regime belong to the Foundation. They are not free for general use. They may be reproduced only as the Hallmark Regulations permit — in particular, the Hallmark may be applied only to an Engagement that has passed an Assay and is recorded on the Register, and only by a party entitled to apply it.
The IDEA Methodology is published openly for reading and citation. Editorial text and design on this site are the Foundation's, and may be quoted with attribution but not passed off as another's.
These terms, and any dispute arising from your use of this site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
